In addition to her veterinary degree Dr. Simmons is a Applied Animal Behaviourist and has completed a Masters Degree in Animal Behaviour . Her passion is Animal Behaviour which she taught at the Ontario Veterinary College for eight years. She has a special place in her heart for German Shepherds which she used to raise and train. Dr. Simmons has been the proud owner of Heartland Pet Hospital for the past 12 years. She shares her home with six cats, two of which are clicker trained to sit for their dinner. She enjoys horseback riding, and when not at the clinic she can usually be found at the stable.
